I loved this novel but something fell flat and didn't hit me in the "favourites" spot, but I felt like I would love Remo’s story more, his chaotic side has me laughing and smiling. I will be reading that book next. None the less, this is another series dearly loved by me from Cora Reilly. Don’t get me wrong this was a beyond amazing novel to complete my reading goal for 2021 to!

I discovered Reilly's writing through another series (Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles series) and really enjoyed her writing, I was gifted a download of this novel and did not realize it wasn't the first book until after reading, where I picked and chose which books I felt I would enjoy from the series.

I did guess the ending fairly on within the storyline, but none the less Nino’s and Kiara’s pasts both broke me inside but both stepping to the plate to fulfilling a truce between the Famiglia and the Camorra, a wedding unites them despite Kiara’s bone-chilling fear of men and Nino’s inability to feel. Will this marriage last, or will they both destroy each other?

“We aren’t about to fuck, satisfied?” Nino asked. Savio grinned. “More satisfied than you, obviously.”

Kiara's fear was something that I see easily could aggravate the reader because she pushes aside everything and completely allows this fear to swallow her alive. If you started reading this for the plot then this is where you can feel this way, but if you were/are reading this for the smut scale then it can be very spicy at moments, but it is a gradual build while Nino and Kiara work together through her fear.

So some reviews say she's weak, and she was but you have to look at exactly what happened to her and how that literally changed her life. It's sweet how even with the life that Nino is involved in, he slows down for her. Keep in mind, he could be like other mafia members that they had all grew up involved around.

You also get to learn and love the Falcone brothers throughout this novel, and Adamo and Remo made me beyond excited to read their novels, RIGHT after.

It was a Falcone brother weekend, and let me tell you I was not disappointed!
