Then She Was Gone- Lisa Jewell

My Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my first ever Lisa Jewell book, I read this only because it was gifted to me by someone. If people are right about pretty covers and amazing stories, Buckle up because it was! 🤩

“If she could rewind the timeline, untwist it and roll it back the other way like a ball of wool, she’d see the knots in the yarn, the warning signs. Looking at it backward it was obvious all along.”

Ellie goes missing when she's fifteen. Ellie was her mother's golden girl, going places and had the whole life ahead of her with the world in her hands.

Ten years later, Laurel has struggled to move on and has never given up hope on finding her daughter again one day, but soon enough that all changed when she meets her new boyfriends nine year old daughter that looks like a spitting image of Ellie.

“The blame game could be exhausting sometimes. The blame game could make you lose your mind . . . all the infinitesimal outcomes, each path breaking up into a million other paths every time you heedlessly chose one, taking you on a journey that you’d never find your way back from.”

All these unanswered questions about what happened to Ellie come flooding back, what happened to Laurels sunshine she once had?

Who is still hiding secrets after all these years?

GUYS, THIS BOOK'S COVER DOES THIS BOOK JUSTICE! but, the ending was a predictable end, maybe 50-65% of the way through, I guessed it. Which isn't a shocking thing for me I guess, it was still a quick sit down and do not move until finished type of book.

Its edgy, it's dark, its addictive...each page leaves you wanting more and soon enough *poof* its over...

I also had the physical copy of her book Invisible Girl, that I had bought at the bookstore because I thought the cover was one of the most beautiful covers I've seen. I've started to notice a trend after that all of her books are beautiful and I've now become a fan of more than the covers, but her writing too and ordered more!
