Stroke of Midnight (Cinderella #1) -K. Webster

Updated: Jun 21, 2021

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was dirty, depraved and dark, and was something I hoped I would enjoy a little more than what I did. Here we have a retelling of Cinderella but with a dirty, dark and modern twist. Ash Elliot, Cinderelliot, a barely turned 18 year old girl who lives with her three creepy step brothers, her step mother and her father.

Ash's father spends all of her college money on her shiny new step mother and nothing left for her, she gets a job as a cleaner for none other than Winston Constantine, New York's self made moneymaker/billionaire who basically runs the city at this point.

Ash gets caught for slacking on the job by Winston himself, only to offer her a better job to work for him doing many dirty things that include many different kinks. This novel isn't for everyone, especially if you don't tolerate humiliation or degradation in any form, so this is my fair warning to process with caution.

I wanted to love this novel, and I don't know why I couldn't the brat energy that Ash gives off made me love her and laugh hard, but she was so convinced to make him fall in love with her, and it truly seemed like Winston could not and that wasn't the direction the novel was heading in, but I could be wrong as I am currently reading the second book in this trilogy as I'm writing this. I don't mind K. Websters writing, in fact I did buy a few others to read eventually so maybe this series just isn't for me, who knows!

sorry for not uploading as much, I've been super busy with working lately. I hope to publish a few a week, if not at least one on here while remaining active on the instagram, so don't forget to follow me on there as well. K. Webster did after posting my review on there, so i guess that means you should too ;)
